Chris Dozier brings a rare combination of legal, title, and exchange expertise to Peak 1031 Exchange as Vice President of Business Development for the East Coast. A licensed North Carolina attorney and Certified Exchange Specialist® (CES®), Chris is one of a select few practitioners in the state who has operated across all three disciplines — real estate law, commercial title insurance, and qualified intermediary services — giving him a transactional perspective that is both broad and deeply practical.

Prior to joining Peak, Chris spent more than six years serving as deal counsel for a Raleigh-based commercial title insurance agency and leading a qualified intermediary exchange company, where he oversaw everything from deal structuring and funds management to IRS compliance and closing coordination. Working alongside commercial real estate investors, developers, attorneys, CPAs, and brokers across North Carolina and abroad, he developed a reputation for deal-focused expertise, responsive communication, and an ability to protect complex transactions from start to finish.

Chris earned the CES® designation in April 2026 — the only nationally recognized credential in the qualified intermediary industry. He pursued it because the complexity of §1031 law demands rigorous examination-based knowledge, not just experience, and because the investors, attorneys, and brokers he serves deserve a QI who can demonstrate that standard.

Before his title insurance and exchange career, Chris practiced real estate law in North Carolina and served as an Assistant District Attorney in Wake County. He is a graduate of Needham Broughton High School, North Carolina State University (B.S., Business Management, 2004), and the Charleston School of Law (J.D., 2008).

Outside the office, he enjoys spending time with his wife Sidney, their three children, boat riding and duck hunting with his labrador retriever.
